Fun fact #16: Last season, Aidan in fact played for the Penguins where he had 1 goal, 3 assists and 344 PIMs. Management at the time, saw him as expendable and in the off season, dealt him to the Lightning for draft picks. Their desire was to rebuild with youth and couldn't justify carrying Aidan's contract any longer.
He has since flourished with the Lightning and currently has 18 goals (including 1 hat trick), 23 assists and 82 PIMs. He attributes his success to his burning desire to be an all-round player, plus playing lots of video games and drinking chocolate milk with breakfast.
After the trade, the Penguins have been relegated to the Division 2A basement where they are winless in their last 36 games. A total lack of toughness and grit are seen to be the main issue. Penguins General Manager called trading Aidan 'his singlemost greatest regret in hockey, bar none'. He lost his job soon after.
"You work it, Aidan - the net is safe with you out front!"
