Sorry guys, I'm pretty sure you did a mistake in your photos classification... At least the date can't be correct. The instant polaroid system from Edwin H. Land was indeed commercialized in 1948, but Black & White only. Color came to Polaroid only in 1963...

I'm pretty sure that the penguin's society is more evolved than ours. That explains why they had color Pola in the 50's...
I believe aliens are to blame. They crashed in Roswell in 1947 and brought color polaroid technology to Bern soon after.
